I tried to write an image to my 256MB microSD card, with all the extra packages(drivers) that can be downloaded from tinycore linux, and found an interesting tutorial to make a "universal" boot drive for the Raspberry Pi.
After spending a few hours, I gave up, and realize tiny core linux is not for a certain type of noob. The type that can't install anything more than Linux Mint, would be understandable, but there are many other distros I can run.
For x86, they have a "CorePlus" Edition, which is like a deluxe OS with lots of wifi support and window managers.
Why Pi-core can't feature one on their page (assuming some forum poster isn't hosting an easy to download img/iso, is beyond me. I get that they have a different philosophy about allowing it to be customizable and adhering to minimalism, but 2004 was when linux became mainstream- with Ubuntu.
They aren't winning many adherents, and I am surprised there aren't more forks like Nanolinux.
In any case, I hope to create an bootable image file with ethernet and browsing support, or at least a text editor.
