Everyone is a scientist
of something that interests them.
Electricity is mystical.
I study it because I don't understand it.
Even after 30 years.
It constantly changes
like water ripples.
But flowing water
is usually boring to me.
Bernoulli found fluids interesting.
I find speed interesting,
when focused on a conductor.

In Italian, the word for current is "corrente".
It's used for flow, but also waves at a beach.
The ocean has its own currents of course,
much larger than a wire of copper or aluminum.
Ocean waves travel thousands of miles.
Sometimes only 5 miles an hour,
and sometimes 600 miles an hour.
There is another word for current in Italian.
It's called "amperaggio". It's less about the flow
and more about the rate, strength, or average.
Corrente is more about the quality of the wave
than a quantity, sometimes broader,
and sometimes narrower.

My mind moves slow sometimes.
When I am thinking of slow things.
I do not need to be moving fast,
as in a car.
I like to be thinking fast,
as in a wave.
Dolphins swim fast because their fins
are strong.
Humans swim relatively slow,
swimming at 2-5 miles per hour.
Of course, humans haven't lived in
the ocean for millions of years,
as amphibians' ancestors.

To swim like a dolphin,
one must think like a dolphin.
